Hill country born and bred.
Strong, structurally sound cattle.
Deep, thick and quiet.

Our cattle roam and survive in the hill country of Rimunui Station on the East Coast of New Zealand, with the wild blue waters of the Pacific Ocean lapping at our doorstep. We breed them hardy and strong; gentle giants with temperament to boot. They’re a type of cattle that have been carefully refined by more than 65 years of breeding by the Williams family.

The 360 stud cows and 80 R2 heifers are run alongside Romney/Perendale/Coopworth ewes and they’re the workhorses of the station, nothing gets a free ride at Kaharau.

Sixty five bulls are sold annually in June and they’re highly sought after. The Kaharau bull has a meaty, full bodied rear and a strong head and jaw that sets him apart from his peers. He’s a survivor, a champion, and his progeny follow in his well crafted footsteps.

Kaharau is renowned for both quality and performance in Angus cattle, both here in New Zealand and on the World stage. There are in fact few herds in New Zealand that Kaharau has not influenced over the years.

Come and see the evidence for yourself, the front gate is always open.

Kaharau has been breeding quality cattle, that are consistent and proven for over 60 years. The strength and depth of breeding in our cow herd is the solid foundation of our programme as we move forward into the future.
